Hi everybody… Now I am going to update my 2nd blog… Yea…. This week we are going to discuss the title of ‘the colors of Malaysia”. Of course, I am feeling very proud because I am being a Malaysian. ^^
Why COLORS?? Malaysian flag not only is colorful. It consists 14 horizontal red and white stripes of equal width and 14 point of star. Actually they are representing the 13 component states and the Federal Government. While the star is symbolizing Islam as the office religion of Malaysia, the yellow color signifies the royal color of the rules.
It is also nationalities as multicolored; there are Malays, Chinese, and Indian. Three of ethnic got their own language, traditional and culture.
LANGUEGE.
Largest amount of Malays are defined by constitution as Muslim. Malays are speaking their native language: Malay (Bahasa Malay) which is national language. Besides, they consists Minang, Bugis, and Javanese speak their ancestral togue. Next, we are going to Chinese…(yea, I’m!) Normally, Chinese community language including Maderin, Cantonese, Hakka, Teochew and Hokkien(actually I’m a hokkien but i don’t know it as well^^). The indian’s native language is Tamil. In fact, English is also widely spoken by a small of them.
Particulars ethnic are got their own celebration festival throughout the year.
HARI RAYA AIDILADHA is generally a festival honored by the Muslim. It is the period of fasting ends when the new mood is sighted on the evening of the last day of Ramadhan. The day of Aidilfrtri, they are usually dressed in with their traditional clothes while men are Baju Melayu and females are Baju Kurung. Earlier in the morning, they will congregate at the mosque and having their pray offered Allah. The younger of members will approach to their elder to ‘salam’ (kiss the hand to the old people as sign of respect.) Some more, children and old folks are given the ‘green pau’ or gift too.
Malaysia Chinese is celebrate CHINESE NEW YEAR among the year. It is commonly called “Lunar New Year”, because it is a new year based on the lunisolar calendar. In this celebration day, people will pour out their money to buy presents, materials, food, decoration and clothing. It is also the tradition that every family goes to clean their house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good incoming luck. Besides that, Chinese also use the red colour paper cuts and couplets with the themes of “happiness”, “wealth”, and “longevity” to decorated on their door and window. On the first day of Chinese New Year, everyone will wear their new clothes and early in the morning children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, after that, they receive money in red paper envelopes with their parent. Most importantly, on the first day of Chinese New Year, families will visit their senior family members and sincerely wish peace and happiness for them. On the second day, the married daughters of the family will come back to their parents as in tradition; they may not have the opportunity to visit their birth families frequently.
